Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 22, 2026
1. Introduction
Spectres ("Spectres," "we," "us," or "our") provides an all-in-one platform for freelancers, including AI-assisted proposal and message writing, invoicing, client management, and related tools (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (if you sign in with Google).
Content you provide. This includes job descriptions, client details, invoices, proposals, messages, contracts, and any other content you enter or upload while using the Service.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are processed by our payment partner. Spectres does not store your full card number or banking credentials — these are handled directly by our payment processor under its own security standards.
Usage data. We collect information about how you use the Service, such as feature usage, login timestamps, and general device/browser information, to maintain and improve the platform.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including your dashboard, invoices, and client records
- Process subscription payments and manage your plan
- Send you account-related communications, such as billing notices or service updates
- Monitor usage limits associated with your subscription tier
- Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service
4. Data Storage and Third-Party Services
Spectres is built on Google Firebase for authentication, database storage, and file storage. Your data is stored on Firebase's infrastructure and is subject to Google's own security practices. If you subscribe to a paid plan, a third-party payment processor handles billing. These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually and/or technically restricted from using your data for purposes unrelated to providing the Service.
Spectres does not currently use artificial intelligence to process your content. If we introduce AI-powered features in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and notify users before those features go live.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with third parties in the following situations: (a) with service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., Firebase, our payment processor), (b) if required by law or a valid legal process, or (c) to protect the rights, safety, or property of Spectres, our users, or the public.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and content data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as billing history) for legal or accounting purposes.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- Access and update your account information at any time from Settings
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of non-essential email communications
To make a request, contact us using the details on our Contact page.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including Firebase Authentication and encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, reach out via our Contact page or email us at privacy@spectres.app.
